Our philosophy is to create a place where children can play, explore, learn and grow  physically, socially, mentally, morally, academically and culturally.

Our goal is to provide a childcare program that offers children a healthy, safe, loving environment to enhance each child’s unique spirit and strength of character.

We are here to provide children the opportunity for educational experiences along with emotional, social, physical and cognitive growth under the loving guidance of our caring, highly qualified staff.

We strive to enrich children’s lives by offering a basis for learning, which improves self-esteem and encourages individual creativity.

We believe that parents are an important part of their children’s learning experiences and are partners in the education and care of the children.

 Program Information

Hours: 

We are open Monday - Friday, 7:00 am to 6 pm.

Age: 

Edgemont Childcare accepts children from the age of 12 months to 12 years old.

Open Door Policy: 

Parents and families are welcome to

 drop in for a visit. 

Meals: 

The center provides a light breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. We plan nutritious, high quality, child oriented meals.

Flexibility: 

We realize that flexibility is important for our families. Children may be enrolled for two to five days per week based on your needs 

and space availability.

Enrolment: 

We invite you to visit us and take a tour of our centre. Please contact our office for an enrolment form or for further information.

Curriculum: 

We believe that young children learn and construct knowledge as a result of meaningful and purposeful experiences. Skills and concepts are developed through child-initiated and teacher-initiated activities. Our childcare staff recognizes that young children reach different levels of learning and development at different times.  We encourage individual growth and the learning of new skills by challenging your child’s imagination in a risk free environment.

Daily Program:

 The daily program provides a mixture of free play, both indoor and outdoor, planned activities and whole group activities. Included in the program is a period of rest for all of the children attending.

Staff:

Our childcare staff are highly trained, caring individuals who enjoy children and are dedicated early childhood professionals. Qualified childcare staff teaches each class and all our staff members meet provincial requirements for working with young children.
